UK’s solar gold rush number two in 2012 is starting.
1 April is UK’s new solar subsidy change date.
UK government’s handling of recently solar subsidy changes is no less than clunky: consequently people think that buying solar (both solar thermal and solar PV) before 1 April is a good idea because:
- Solar thermal loses its £300 RHPP cash subsidy on that date. It falls to zero. Use it or lose it! Pre-apply for it here right now.
- Solar PV FIT payments of 21p/kWh become, on that date, conditional on home energy performance level D being in place (about 50% of homes perform worse than D. So there will be extra costs for many people, even though upgrading home energy performance is a good idea.
- With either solar energy technology, it is a good idea to catch this year’s summer energy bulge: we are already only 3 weeks away from the spring equinox. Solar energy levels are now increasing fast.
Plus, of course, our solar panels prices have never been better! And we will further discount solar installations where both solar technologies install at the same time, because combining the two solar installations reduces roof access costs. It’s solar bargain time.
I hope this solar grants deadline news is useful. Please tell your friends now. Time is running out.
