Solar Panel Sites in ASA Referral.

Three solar “get an amazing bargain solar quote today” type websites making claims such as “75% off solar panels” and “we beat 99% of solar quotes” have been referred by Solar Twin Ltd to the Advertising Standards Authority, in the hope these players they will be asked to validate their claims.

We have not taken these complaints first to solar industry regulators such as the Consumer REAL Assurance Code (of which we are paying members) since, in our experience, REAL do not respond in a timely and positive way. Hence the immediate ASA referral.

We hope that these claims can be investigated – and then either upheld or changed. You heard it first from Solartwin – who have been challenging the solar industry to clean up since 1999 – and who are being boycotted by some leading industry bodies – as a direct consequence of their daring to do so.
