Solar grants: Solartwin grant aided social housing project for solar heating in NorthWest England

Filed under: Latest News

Solar Twin Ltd has completed a solar in social housing installation project which was grant aided by the Foundation North West Climate Fund. Seven homes in Weaver Vale Housing Trust were retrofitted with state of the art zero carbon Solartwin solar water heating systems. The solar water heating panels are now reducing tenents’ use of an expensive and high carbon water heating fuel – mains electricity.

The solar heating case study for Weaver Vale Housing Trust in Northwich is here.

What is Foundation North West Climate Fund? It is a new, innovative and powerful carbon reduction fund for the North West region of England. It helps to identify, launch and fund a range of projects across Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside. Together they will have a substantial impact on local communities as well as on the region’s carbon emissions.

How does our organisation apply for funds? The Foundation grant application form is near the bottom of this web page.

Applications are invited for projects that will;

•    Achieve CO2 savings through reducing demand for fossil fuels or carbon sequestration;
•    Provide value for money in terms of cost per tonne CO2 saved;
•    Provide additional CO2 savings that could not reasonably be expected to be achieved without this funding;
•    Be located in the North West region.

Further grants are available for community projects. The maximum grant available is £50,000.

To apply for the grants to use Solartwin solar hot water systems for water heating, community organisations will need also a quote from ourselves. We can turn these around fast. Please contact Dave@solartwin.com 01244 403407.

Please tell anyone you know about these grants if they are involved in community organisations of any kind in the North West!
