Solar panels for water heating with zero carbon operation using PV pumping cut carbon emissions in acclaimed UK multi-microgeneration-retrofit superhome.
I’m delighted to read that long standing Solartwin solar water heating customers in UK, Tony and Stella Richardson, have had their low carbon home added to the Superhomes website!
This green website site offers case studies of existing housing, but only where the owners have improved it sufficiently to reduce its original carbon footprint by 60% or more.
The figure for Tony and Stella’s “multi-microgeneration-retrofit” superhome (what a mouthful) is 73% – so high that it even astonished them!
They think they are the 58th home in the country to become recognised as a superhome. Do explore it and see whether there are any superhomes near you. Most of them are open to the public on occasions.
Are you able to register as a superhome? 60% is a tough threshold…
Remember – heating is half of the CO2 problem!
Regards, Barry.
