Solartwin.com are UK’s leading supplier of zero carbon solar water heating systems. Based in the centre of Chester, we cover all of UK and Ireland. Our business turned over £1.4M in 2009, having grown despite the global economic downturn.

Salary £18-24k depending on experience. Based in Central Chester.
Unique broad career development role for an ambitious, strategic, target-led, all rounder with good interpersonal skills. You will play a key role in growing a small renewable energy business of turnover £1.5M pa. Online marketing and efficient IT are essential to our growth, so you will have great opportunities. Strong analytical capabilities are essential, as are fantastic time management skills and an ability to thrive under pressure.
We immediately require someone who can bring most of the following capabilities (and who has potential for delivering all of them, in time):
- Maintain a local and VPN network of mainly Mac computers.
- Deliver broad IT technical support for the business.
- Filemaker Pro Database design, management and data extraction.
- Routine and contingency planning including backup and data security.
- Maintain our building’s security including cameras and alarms.
- Responsible for communications including telecoms and email.
- Responsible for cost effective leads generation in many ways.
- Advertising and marketing contributions include advertisement design, buying, pricing and scheduling.
- Graphic design of adverts, posters and leaflets.
- Website build, management, maintenance and development using a CMS.
- Detailed and strategic SEO work including link building, keyword analysis and expansion.
- Expertise and experience in social media.
- Deliver cost-effective PPC including Google Adwords.
- Identify commercial opportunities wherever they arise.
- Produce management reports when appropriate.
Full time 40 hpw M-F with some scheduled and unscheduled out of hours work when required. Temporary to permanent post confirmation normally after 3 months. Highly motivated technical sales or telesales people needed now. We have lovely customers!
Great sales posts in a fast growing ethical, renewable energy business either selling retail solar panels by phone. As far as we know, Solartwin are the only solar thermal business in the world which sells retail solar by phone, so it is far greener than driving out to visit someone.
This work is inbound inquiries only – no cold calls. You will be working to hot inbound leads and also working on an existing database, explaining and selling our award winning product. Based in central Chester – you will survey homes in UK and Ireland for Solartwin solar water heating installations, usually by phone using online aerial photography. You will have your own portfolio of green energy customers, work to monthly sales thresholds and deadlines using a customer database. Besides selling solar heating, you may also sell other products such as solar electric systems.
We will train you in relevant areas including solar in general, and specifically on the products. You will work mainly afternoons and evenings typically between noon and 9pm most days, plus occasional mornings instead of evenings. Currently although most work at Solar Twin Ltd is Monday to Friday, you will also be required to do some weekend work. All posts involve representation and attendance at external events such as exhibitions and meetings.
Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Extra languages may be a help but are not essential. We welcome fully bilingual speakers of languages such as Arabic, Mandarin, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, German, Danish, Welsh.
The package in a retail sales position will be base plus uncapped commission: For a full timer, starting salary depends on experience. After a year in post, if you sell £300k you will earn £20k+. If you sell £400k pa you will earn £25k+. This translates into someone buying one installation roughly every 2 days, thanks to you.
Successful candidates for these interesting environmental jobs are likely to be graduates with: a positive attitude, excellent motivation, a proven sales experience, a polite and clear phone manner, great verbal skills, good time management. A team player, you will also be keen to learn new ideas and make good money!

(As mentioned above, there may soon be opportunities for trade posts. This work includes project management and may take you outside UK. It involves working with both existing and new clients. If successful, you will eventually drive projects from start to finish. For example, you will handle initial inquiries, develop and specify projects, typically valued at £5k – £500k. You will quote for these, liaise with partners in developments where appropriate, buy parts and installation labour smartly, negotiate terms and conditions, manage installation projects from start to finish including safety matters and ensure positive cashflow right through to final collection of funds. Again you will work using an extensive client database.In trade the hours will be mainly daytime. Packages in trade are open to negotiation depending on experience and what you can bring to the business.)
